Thomas' Farewell

Thomas has moved to be Vicar of Romsey Abbey we wish him all the best for his new life and promotion.

A big thank you to Thomas and his family for all they have given to St James' West End and our community over the last five years.

We have become a  diverse worshopping community, from people of all ages joining both traditional and new contempory services. Our links with the community, from St James' School, Stay and Play, house groups, concerts and the Parish Council events, have gone from strength to strength. Thomas' support for families and youth involvement with in the church have been so important to our church.

The kindness Thomas and his family have shown us all will be particularly missed. His ability to connect with all people in whatever circumstance has been a great support to many.

We are all proud to have known Thomas the last few years and to have been part of his own journey and we wish him all the best for the future.

On Sunday the 5 August we had an opportunity to formally thank Thomas and his family for their time at St James'.

The service was a celebration of the traditional and contemporary services Thomas has grown in his time at St James' and was attended by not only regular congregation members, but also many people from the community. It was also our opportunity to present Thomas with a range of gifts bought from the generous donations that were given.

The service was followed by a celebration lunch in the Church Hall where many words of thanks were offered to Thomas by those present.

Thank you to all those who helped to make Thomas' last service such a memorable one. Everyone

was very generous with their donations for the gifts purchased and the food provided.

Well done St James!'                                                                                 Scott Langridge
